SD ECCS Focus Groups & Strategic Planning

SD ECCSCPCM is one of 20 Awardees nationwide of the Federal health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) grant. The purpose of ECCS is to strengthen collaboration and coordination between systems that impact the healthy development, early learning and well-being of our state’s youngest children and their families. All 20 ECCS Awardees are seeking to better understand the landscape of their state’s comprehensive early childhood system.

As part of the SD ECCS team’s efforts, Sage Project Consultants has been contracted to conduct a “Systems Asset and Gap Analysis” (SAGA) and to facilitate the ECCS Strategic Planning process. To date, Sage has conducted a meta-analysis of existing needs assessments and strategic plans that impact our state’s youngest children and their families, and will conduct focus groups with content experts in June and July to review their findings. If you are a content expert in one of the following areas, particularly as it relates to the wellbeing of Prenatal-3 year-olds, and would like to participate in an ECCS focus group, please email [email protected]: Healthcare, Dental, Disabilities, Behavioral Health, Childcare, Prenatal and Parenting Education, Legal/Safety, and Cultural, Social or Economic Supports for Families.

Watch for more details about online series of facilitated ECCS discussion panels with content experts being planning for August and September.
