This training is for anyone interested in the topic of who a predator and groomer are. The information will have adult content and is recommended for adults only. Privacy and confidentiality will be emphasized. If possible RSVP to educator.84@hotmail.com (Judy De Wit) with the number of those who plan to attend.

About the presenter:
Judy De Wit grew up near Rock Valley, Iowa, and is a graduate of Dordt College (1984) in Sioux Center, Iowa. She taught elementary education for fourteen years and also has degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy, Leadership, and Theology.
She has worked as a mental health therapist for seventeen years and currently has a private practice in Sioux Falls, SD. She is a lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church. Most of Judy’s training, work, and supervision occurred in Minneapolis and the Mpls Metro, including work with county referrals with suspected or confirmed child abuse, outpatient services for children who have been abused, and has provided training for children mental health services.
She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for MN and SD, has written four books about abuse and abuse in the church, and is a member of Bethel CRC in Sioux Center. Her final project for her Doctorate of Ministry for Sioux Falls Seminary is titled: Clergy Accountability.

Objectives: The attendee will be able to
• Identify the traits and characteristics of a pedophile
• Know how to prevent, respond, and report child abuse
• Know what to say and do should your child report to you his/her grooming experience and abuse
