NOTE: Pre-Registration on http://register.NDLSF.org required!
On September 29th, the Yankton Rural Area Health Education Center will be hosting a Basic Disaster Life Support training session in Sioux Falls, SD at the University Center. The training curriculum is provided by the National Disaster Life Support Foundation which also provides certification and CEU’s for Nurses and EMT’s. The course will go from 8 am to 5 pm with a working lunch. Certification will qualify those who attend to teach Core Disaster Life Support, a course for students to learn the basics of disaster preparedness and their responsibilities as health professions volunteers. (This is the course that we teach on Disaster Training Day each February in the Lee Medical Building)
The cost of the course is being covered through a grant that the Yankton Rural Area Health Education Center manages for the Department of Preparedness. We will also be providing a light breakfast, along with lunch and beverages.
I have attached the course objectives and a tentative agenda. If you or members of your team are interested in attending, please let me know and I will send you the registration information! Feel free to reach out if you have questions.
