Children’s Home Society and the ACEs and Resiliency Fellows will be hosting a free screening of the movie “Paper Tigers” at 6pm on April 5th at WestGate Community Church in Rapid. Following the movie there will be discussion about building resilient communities and the role EVERYONE can play.
“Paper Tigers” chronicles a year in the life of Lincoln High School in the community of Walla Walla, Washington. The kids who come to Lincoln have a history of truancy, behavioral problems, and substance abuse. After Lincoln’s principal is exposed to research about the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), he decides to radically change the schools’ approach to discipline.
